Tourism visa requirements

Requirements for a tourism visa

The list of countries whose nationals can enter Argentina for 90 days without a tourist visa can be found at the following link.

Canadian nationals do not need a tourist visa to enter Argentina, nor do they need to pay a reciprocity fee.

  • Argentina Visa Application Form, completed and signed (See below);
  • Valid passport.  It must have at least two blank pages;
  • 2x Passport-sized photos;
  • Roundtrip Flight tickets or verifiable reservation;
  • Travel itinerary; If you are travelling within Argentina, all internal flights or alternatives need to be accounted for (See below);
  • Proof of accommodation for all days during the stay;
  • Proof of sufficient financial means to cover the duration of your stay, such as through bank statements
  • Proof of employment or academic enrollment in Canada;
  • Proof of migratory status in Canada;
  • For minors: Travel authorization from the parent(s) or legal guardian(s), legalized by an Apostille or an argentine consulate or embassy.

Additional information/documents may be required by the consular officer.

 

IMPORTANT: Please send a digital copy of all required documents to cmrea@cancilleria.gob.ar for review before requesting an appointment. Once approved, a consular interview will be scheduled, at which applicants will be required to submit all original documents and pay the visa processing fee.

Submission of the required documents do not guarantee any specific outcome for the application.

Visa applications have to be submitted within 90 days of the planned date of entry to Argentina. Requests submited less than 21 days before the date of departure cannot be guaranteed to be scheduled/processed in time.

 

Electronic Travel Authorization (AVE)

Foreign nationals holding ordinary passports from these countries traveling to Argentina for tourism and holding a valid visa category B2/J/B1/O/P (P1-P2-P3)/E/H-1B issued by the United States of America can apply for an Electronic Travel Authorization (AVE).

It is processed online through the National Directorate of Migrations (DNM) and takes up to 20 business days.

Those granted an AVE will have 3 consecutive months to enter Argentina and can stay for 3 consecutive months from their entry, with multiple entries and exits.
